You may have some experience dealing with other hosting companies and may have an idea of what you need to do to get going. Or this is your first adventure into hosting your website.
We do some things a bit different here at JavaPipe and this guide below will help you get the most out of your hosting account. This is basic information and further details can be found here in our knowledgebase. Please remember, if you cannot find something, please feel free to contact us by logging into your client area and submitting a ticket.
After you signup you will receive a "Welcome" email with all your information regarding your account. Please print out this email for future reference, this is very important. Depending on the package you requested you may receive addition emails with information such as your Tomcat setup details.
What are Name Servers and what do you need to do? Name Servers are part of DNS that help point your domain to the correct server. If you already registered your domain elsewhere, then you need to login to your registrar where you registered your domain and modify the Name Server information. Some registrars call it "Modify" or "Modify Delegation" or plainly, "Name Server Information." All you need to do is change the name servers to the ones that you receive in your email. Most likely ns1.nshostserver.net, ns2.nshostserver.net and ns3.nshostserver.net.
After you modify the records, it takes 12-48 hours for the domain to propagate. This means it takes that much time for the internet DNS databases around the world to be updated and recognize the change. Until then you can use the temporary link provided in your email to preview your site.

Note: If you have registered your domain to with us when signing up, then you will not need to worry about modifying the name server information.
When you sign up, a welcome email will provide you with your account information that includes a link and login to your SiteWorx Control Panel.
When you navigate to your siteworks, you will need to provide the following details:
- Email address
- Your domain such as something.com (siteworx auto populated this field with the hostname, please replace with your domain)
To minimize loss of email or site downtime, we recommend setting up email accounts in your control panel before modifying the name servers. This is so when the propagation takes place, your email will already have a place to go.
You will need anprogram to upload your website to our server. You can also use the file manager in the site administrator to upload if you do not have access to an FTP program. Web editors such as Dreamweaver or Golive can also be used to upload your site.
For PHP hosting in the cloud:
- Upload your PHP and HTML files to the yourdomain.com/html folder.
For affordable Java hosting in the cloud:
- Upload your HTML and JAVA files to the yourdomain.com/tomcat/webapps/webappname (or just ROOT)/ folder.
Most important thing is when you connect to the server using whatever method, you will find some folders, such as usr, var and a few others depending on the feature of your package. Do not delete these folders. If your ftp program asks for directory or remote directory, just put yourdomain.com/tomcat/webapps or yourdomain.com/html/ as that is the directory you want your files to be uploaded to.
Login information will be provided in the welcome email.
