How to Add IP Addresses to Windows 2008 Server Print

  1. Log into your server via Remote Desktop.

  2. Open the server's Start menu and select Network.

  3. Double-click on the Network and Sharing Center icon.

  4. Click on the Change Adapter Settings link on the left.

  5. Right click on the icon representing your server's network card and select Properties from the menu that appears.

  6. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click the Properties button.

  7. Click the Advanced button.

  8. Click the Add button under the IP addresses section of the IP Settings tab.

  9. Enter the IP address and subnet mask and click the Add button.

  10. Click the OK button to close the Advanced TCP/IP Settings window.

  11. If the Gateway for the IP address is different then one shown in the default gateway window, then click Add and add the gateway.

  12. Keep the Automatic metric button checked.

  13. Click the OK button to close the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties window.

  14. Click the Close button to close out of the Local Area Connection Properties window.

  15. Try to ping the IP from your desktop/laptop.

  16. If it is pinging good, that means you have configured IP correctly.
